Today, Latvia is a very popular destination for health tourism, as premium quality medical treatments and services are available at around 50-60% less of the cost than that in the UK.
The surgery packages at Orthopaedic Riga are as follows:
Hip or knee replacement package.
The hip or knee replacement surgery package is most comprehensive, starting from your arrival at Riga airport (RIX) to your departure home, after one week. It includes:
· Transfers from the airport to the hotel, the hotel to the Clinic, the Clinic to the airport.
· One (first) night stay at a comfortable 4 star hotel in beautiful Old Riga.
· Consultation with your surgeon.
· Consultation with your anaesthetist.
· Pre-operative examinations (full blood count, biochemistry blood test, urine analysis, electrocardiogram, chest X-rays, X-ray of hip/knee/ankle).
· Anaesthetic.
· Surgery.
· 5-6 nights stay in a private, comfortable, hotel style room equipped with a flat screen television, wifi and air conditioning.
· 24 hour personal nurse assistance for the duration of your stay.
· Follow up consultations with your surgeon.
· Several sessions with a rehabilitation specialist (for hip and knee replacement).
· 3 meals per day during your stay at the clinic.
The implants used by our orthopaedic surgeons are of proven quality: Johnson & Johnson, Zimmer, Smith & Nephew, B-Braun.
10 year follow up.
The hip or knee replacement surgery package also includes a 10 year follow up – our patient coordinator will be able to assist you by telephone or email for ten years after your surgery, available to answer any questions relating to your surgery.
Further rehabilitation at the clinic.
A typical schedule for hip or knee replacement surgery, would be to arrive on a Monday and depart the following Monday. Our rehabilitation specialist, guided by your surgeon, will help you during the days after surgery. There is also the opportunity to stay an extra one, two or three weeks at the Clinic, for further rehabilitation. It is of course your choice, but many people choose to stay for further rehabilitation.
The fee is £585 per week. This includes 6 sessions with the rehabilitation specialist and 3 meals per day during your stay.

· 24 hour personal nurse assistance for the duration of your stay.
· Follow up consultation with your surgeon.
· 3 meals per day during your stay at the clinic.

2 years follow up.
